Webcasters See Gains in Hours Streamed
MeasureCast's (www.measurecast.com) weekly Internet Radio Index for the week of May 14-20 indicated that the number of hours streamed by Internet radio broadcasters increased more than 14 percent. The Index is now up 49 percent for the year.
The MeasureCast Internet Radio Index tracks the total number of hours streamed by online broadcasters and according to the data, the increase in hours was widespread. Twenty broadcasters listed in the MeasureCast Internet Radio Top 25 saw increases in their total time spent listening (TTSL).
MeasureCast also pointed out that broadcasters enjoying a particularly strong week included ClickLive's WLIR-FM, which doubled the number of hours streamed, CableMusic Network's Hot 100, which saw a 97 percent increase, and KNIK-FM, streamed through WarpRadio, which had a 66 percent increase in TTSL.
