OnAir.com Streamlines Services

In an effort to focus on its technology offerings, OnAir.com (www.onair.com), announced it has restructured by eliminating the ad-share network, consequently laying off 13 associated employees.

The company's ad-share network, which currently streams music to more than 70,000 Web sites worldwide in exchange for a share of advertising revenue, is being sold. Kimberly Shepard, director of public relations of OnAir Streaming Networks, said the company is not disclosing the name of the buyer .

According to Scott Purcell, CEO and founder of OnAir, the company has seen where the market is going and what is working for OnAir. "Our strengths are in the innovation and creativity of our technologies; from front-end user-interfaces, to back-end capabilities of security, digital library management, syndication systems, and systems integration. We already have some large client success stories, and look forward to more as we license these technologies and software to market-leading companies as they develop their streaming strategies."

In August, OnAir changed its name from WWW.com and decided to concentrate on a business-to-business model, rather than try to create a consumer destination site.

OnAir's technology offerings include its proprietary streaming software, tools, technology and systems integration. These solutions, which are web-based, include a customizable user-interface, end-user support, iStation, tokenized ERL's and syndication engines.
