Veon Signs Licensing Agreement with America Online

Software company Veon (http://www.veon.com)announced a deal with America Online to let its users viewinteractive broadband programming using Veon's VeonPlayer.

Veon makes interactive solutions for broadband. It was an early pioneer in the streaming market when it introduced clickable video, what they call "HyperVideo".

"Through deployment of this interactive programming platform,Veon can provide content providers and creators with the ability tolink entertainment and advertising content with the enormoustransaction potential of broadband," said Joanna Shields, CEO of Veon."Never before has such a compelling selling and analysis platform beenso widely available."

"We believe that our agreement with Veon will help providebroadband users with a richer, more meaningful and personalizedcontent experience," said Jonathan Sacks, senior vice president andgeneral manager of the AOL service. "We're pleased to work with Veonto help provide enhanced content to users of our multiple brands."

After a while of inactivity, Veon has recently been gaining some momentum Veon has completed distribution agreements with broadband service providers, like Excite@Home.

Veon started its life called Ephyx Technologies in 1994 and was primarily known for its V-Active clickable video tools. It changed its name in 1998 and began to refocus on broadband and tools for creating interactive video environments.
