CNET and AMFM to Create First All-Technology Radio

If you simply must get your technology news and information, check your radio.

A partnership between CNET ( http://www.cnet.com) and AMFM, a top radio broadcasting company will result in the creation of CNET Radio, the first all-tech radio format. That means even if your car is stuck on traffic on Highway 101, you can still get your tech news.

The first CNET Radio station will launch this month in San Francisco on AMFM's KNEW 910 AM. There are plans to roll out the format nationally by the end of 2000.

The AMFM Radio Group is one of the largest radio groups with more than 440 stations in 100 markets. It reaches a weekly listener base of approximately 64 million people.

CNET Radio will have a companion Web site at (http://www.cnetradio.com).

"With the addition of radio to our leading online and televisionproperties, CNET is emerging as the prototypical media company of the 21stcentury -- a dynamic merging of mediums with the Internet at its core," statedHalsey Minor, Chairman and CEO of CNET. "This first-of-its-kind alliance willenable CNET to continue to extend its reach and brand awareness throughhigh-quality and credible radio programming. Putting together a radio station should be old hat for CNET. They've been doing it online since 1995.
