VEON Joins Microsoft's Broadband Jumpstart Initiative

Veon (http://www.veon.com) announced it is joining the Microsoft Windows Media Broadband Jumpstart initiative, an effort started by Microsoft to push broadband streaming efforts across the industry.

So far over 60 content, service provider and infrastructure companies have joined the initiative, whose ultimate goal, of course, is to use Microsoft's Windows Media software.

"Solutions like Veon's are critical for enabling viable broadband business models, which is a key goal of the Windows Media Broadband Jumpstart initiative," said Dave Fester, director of marketing, Digital Media Division, Microsoft Corp. "With Veon's technology and the superior quality of Windows Media over broadband, developers can integrate linear streaming with interactive e-commerce applications."

Veon provides software and services platform for creating broadband video programming. Its VeonStudio. Software combines video, audio, text, graphics, animations and HTML into a single program for delivery over broadband networks. Veon created clickable video which enables developers to create interactive video that may contain ecommerce or advertising.
