Palo Alto, CA(18 Oct 2016)

Epiphan Video, a leader in professional audiovisual capture, recording, and streaming products announces two new products, Epiphan Webcaster X1 for YouTube and Epiphan Webcaster X1 for Facebook Live, for simple and reliable high-quality live streaming to social networks. Developed in collaboration with YouTube and Facebook and affordably priced at just $299.95, the Webcaster X1 family gives content creators the ability to increase engagement and build their brand by streaming any HD camera or video source directly to YouTube Live or Facebook Live.

These dedicated streaming devices require no computer or special software installation and are fully integrated with Facebook and YouTube live streaming experiences. Users simply connect their HDMI camera, live switcher or video mixer to the HDMI input port on Webcaster X1, then authenticate the device to their account using a secure device code displayed on Webcaster X1’s front screen.

Epiphan’s Webcaster X1 for YouTube is the first hardware device to be YouTube Live Verified and works with the familiar YouTube Live Dashboard interface. When the stream is complete, the user simply turns off Webcaster X1 and YouTube begins immediately to transcode the stream into an on-demand video.

Webcaster X1 for Facebook Live is the first small form factor dedicated hardware encoder to be integrated with Facebook Live. With Webcaster X1 for Facebook Live, users can stream live to their Facebook Timeline, to a Group, an Event or a Page using either of Facebook Live’s two streaming options to create either a continuous long-running stream or a single event.

“Webcaster X1 is here to empower everyone engaged in social media, from celebrities to vloggers and news outlets to churches, with the tools they need to generate high quality, HD live streaming content,” said Mike Sandler, CEO Epiphan Video. “I can’t wait to see the incredible new content that Webcaster X1 unlocks.”

Both Webcaster X1 for YouTube and Webcaster X1 for Facebook Live are available today for purchase in North America on www.epiphan.com. Webcaster X1 for YouTube ships on Black Friday (November 25, 2016) and Webcaster X1 for Facebook Live ships one week later on December 2, 2016.
