Online Editor WeVideo Expands with iOS and Android Apps
Collaborative online video editor WeVideo is on a roll: it recently upgraded to version 3.0, adding features that make editing more accessible to anyone, and now its expanding what customers can do on their mobile phones.
About a week-and-a-half ago, WeVideo released an iOS app called WeVideo Uploader. With it, iPhone owners can send video they shot on their phones directly to their WeVideo accounts. They can also tag their videos and make rough cuts prior to sending. It's timesaver, since it lets customers skip downloading videos to their desktops before uploading to their accounts.
This week, WeVideo released a new Android app compatible with Jellybean, and it can do even more than that. Previously, WeVideo offered an Android app that included the same features as the iOS Uploader app. Now, the Android app has been improved with stronger editing functionality.
Called WeVideo Editor, the Android app offers the same easy editing controls as the storyboard mode in WeVideo's online client. Customers can add a theme to their clips with one click. Themes include music, transitions, and effects that give a polished look with no work. The Android app also offers editing accurate within three frames. When finished, customers can upload their work to their WeVideo, YouTube, or Facebook accounts.
While the WeVideo Android app currently offers more features than the WeVideo iOS app, iPhone and iPad users won't be left out for long: WeVideo plans to release an improved iOS app in two months.
