WeVideo 3.0: The Collaborative Online Video Editor Adds Features
For companies, passing around versions of a text document is hard enough, but imagine passing around versions of a video. When several people at an organization need to okay a video before it's finalized, keeping track of versions and changes can be a real hassle. That's where online video editor WeVideo has found an opportunity. Companies can use WeVideo to edit in the cloud, making it simple for different group members to view updates and even add their own changes.
WeVideo recently released its third version, and has included some handy new features. Before, everyone had to use the same editing interface. Now, WeVideo offers three different interfaces, so people can choose their own skill level. The Storyboard mode lets beginners arrange scenes, but not worry about editing. The Timeline mode offers simple timeline editing for those with basic editing skills. Finally, the Advanced mode offers sophisticated multi-track video and audio editing. The best part, though, is that different group members can use whichever mode they're comfortable with to view the same project.
Those looking for quick results will like the addition of two dozen "click and style" themes. These let editors give a video a signature look -- such as vintage, punk rock, and corporate -- with one click. Themes include titles, transitions, color grading, filters, and music.
Because WeVideo is all about collaboration, the developers have created the WeVideo Hub, to make accessing stored content and communicating with others easier. The hub give users a place to organize files and connect through social media.
Companies probably want to post their video creations to YouTube and other sharing sites once they're done, so WeVideo now offers direct publishing options. Users can share finished projects on YouTube, Google Drive, Vimeo, Facebook, and Twitter. They can even publish to their own profile page on WeVideo's site.
Finally, WeVideo now lets companies embed not just a video, but a video editor into their pages. Companies can give their followers and fans an engaging and social experience by creating a custom video editing page.
