Adobe Debuts Video Apps, Announces Video Stock at Max Conference

Adobe kicked off the Adobe Max conference today—it's annual event for creative professionals—and offered several goodies for video professionals:

  • Adobe Stock: Adobe Stock, which launched in June, already has a strong collection of photos, images, and graphics for creatives to chose from. What's missing is video, but not for much longer. Adobe will soon add video to the library. Video editors will be able to search for and procure videos from directly within Premiere Pro CC.

  • Premiere Clip 2.0: The mobile app Premiere Clip lets people create quick, sharable videos wherever they are. With the 2.0 version, video editors can import Lightroom files to their mobile device and create videos that are synced to the beat of songs from their iTunes library or royalty-free tracks that come with the app.

  • Ultra HD Support: The ultra high definition era is here, and Adobe is ready to support it. Adobe announced native format support in Premiere Pro CC for 4K to 8K editing, as well as support for high dynamic range (HDR) workflows.

  • Capture CC: Adobe has rolled the features of Adobe Brush, Adobe Shape, Adobe Color, and Adobe Hue into Adobe Capture CC, a new app. The idea is to let creatives capture inspiration wherever they find it, then use captured assets as brushes, shapes, or color themes later.

  • Touch: Track pad users will appreciate that Premiere CC now has touch controls that work on devices like the Surface Pro, Windows tablets, and Apple track pad devices.

Adobe's apps are available for free download now in the Apple App Store and Google Play. Creative Cloud subscribers will get updated desktop applications by the end of the year.

For those who weren't one of the 7,000 in attendance at the Adobe Max 2015 conference in Los Angeles, Adobe has made a video of the keynote address available online.
