Ooyala: 2015 Online Video Industry Prediction

Mobile viewing on smartphones and tablets will make up half of all online viewing by the end of the year. New, premium, direct-to-consumer OTT offerings from top-tier broadcasters and service providers expected to hit the market will gain traction quickly, with tablets being a sweet spot for many of their early adopters.

This will help to increase the already fast pace of growth of mobile and tablet video consumption. Live sporting events and other major national (and international) simulcasts will play a significant role in driving mobile consumption toward capturing a majority share of time spent watching IP-delivered video.
