2013 Online Video Executive Prediction: Sovee

We see three significant trends that are driving change for our clients and creating a need for a perfect “trifecta” of video technology services in 2013: The hot topics of Translation, Transcoding, and e-Theater hosting.

First, an increasingly global marketplace is intensifying the need for video in multiple languages. We see video translation technology moving from a “growing interest” in 2012 to an essential “must have” in 2013. It’s important to note that businesses will look for more than simple translation. “Localization” capabilities will be in hot demand, because they provide careful attention to the cultural and linguistic relevance of video translation.

The second trend: The growing movement to mobile viewing has made multiple video encodings a necessity. A hot selling point in 2013 will be the ability to rapidly transcode video in multiple formats with the efficiency of a single embed code.

The third trend: Businesses are weary of advertisement-heavy public video platforms. We predict an increase in companies searching for customizable private e-theaters and other CDN solutions as today’s advanced cloud technology opens up new, affordable solutions.

Going forward: We believe this perfect “trifecta” of translation, transcoding and e-theater technology will become the “new normal” for a competitive, comprehensive video solution. Together, these services assure an optimum experience for consumers, regardless of their language preference, device, browser or bandwidth. And in the end, that’s where our clients are placing their bets for the future.
