Socialive Studio Brings Live Video to Owned and Operated Sites

Socialive, a platform that helps brands stream live video, announces Socialive Studio today, and it lets customers stream video to their owned and operated pages, not just their social channels.

For those not familiar, Socialive helps marketers create attractive and professional live streams, even without any video experience. Marketers can shoot from their phones or video cameras, dress up their shots with graphics and polls, then stream live simultaneously to their Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, and Periscope pages. The idea is to make a pro-quality tool that anyone can use.

What's new with Socialive Studio is the ability to stream to a company's owned and operated channels, as well. For those who are tired of sending traffic offsite, it's a helpful way to pull viewers in. And it even works with internal pages, so it can stream an employee town hall. It provides internal streaming by working with JW Player and Brightcove. Unlike previous Socialive offerings, Socialive Studio is entirely cloud-based so there's no software to download.

Broadcasts aren't limited to a single camera, as Socialive Studio can mix multiple feeds into one stream using split-screen or picture-in-picture effects. That's another first.

"We see that customers are most interested in live videos that have four main attributes: a compelling story, audience participation, authenticity from the presenters, and exclusive content," explains David Moricca, founder and CEO. "For story, there needs to be a strong narrative in the videos. We recommend people humanize the content by telling the backstories of the brand, executives, or products. To make content participatory, we encourage companies to have a two-way conversation with their audience using features like on-screen comments and polls. For authenticity, don't put too much emphasis on production. It is okay for live video to be raw and original. Lastly, great live content creates excitement and value by revealing products, insights, and offers that cannot be found anywhere else."

Getting started with Studio takes a day or two, as the company provides an orientation session and assists with setting up custom graphics.

Pricing for Socialive Studio includes a license fee and a customized fee based on the number of licenses needed, the broadcast destinations, the number of events, and the amount of production support services required. Contact the company for an exact quote.

Current Socialive customers include Amazon's Audible, JP Morgan, Celebrity Cruise Lines, AMC Theaters, and Pfizer.
