Registration Opens for 2011 Streaming Media East Conference

Where would you go to learn everything you need to know about HTML5 video? Or online video platforms? Or in-house versus cloud transcoding?

From May 9 to 11, you can learn these topics and many more at the 2011 Streaming Media East conference. Registration for the event, the largest annual gathering of online video professionals in North America, has just opened. Attendees who purchase a gold pass (which includes a two-day conference pass, plus access to two half-day seminars on May 9) or a platinum pass (which includes a two-day pass, as well as access to the Content Delivery Summit on May 9) will receive a free Roku HD, which allows users to stream movies and TV shows from Netflix and other sources.

The conference will take place In New York City, at the Hilton New York. Attendees will be able to talk to representatives of Adobe, Microsoft, Brightcove, EdgeCast. Kaltura, and scores of other online video companies.

While Streaming Media East typically offers three tracks of conferences, this year a fourth has been added all about HTML5 video. You'll learn HTML5 encoding, how to build an HTML5 player, and how to use Flash and HTML5 video together.

"The idea to have a whole track dedicated to the topic was because so many people have so many questions about HTML5," says Dan Rayburn, executive vice president at StreamingMedia.com. "It seems like a natural fit."

Check out the registration and pricing details at the conference's registration page. The full schedule of events will be unveiled on February 11.
