Product Description

Storm Streaming is a professional live streaming ecosystem built around two complementary products — Storm Streaming Server (on-premise) and Storm Streaming Cloud (fully managed) — both sharing the same powerful core technology developed over twenty years of real-world streaming experience.

Unlike competing platforms that rely on third-party components, Storm delivers a fully integrated ecosystem out of the box. This includes a dedicated video player — available both as a feature-rich UI component and as a headless library, with dedicated components for React JS and Angular — as well as Storm Broadcaster for browser-based publishing. No additional development work is needed to go live.

Both products are built around a dynamic streaming cluster architecture with dedicated transcode nodes supporting live transcoding on both CPU and GPU (NVENC, AMF, QSV). Adaptive bitrate streaming ensures a smooth viewing experience across any device and under unstable network conditions, while re-streaming capabilities allow broadcasts to be simultaneously distributed to third-party platforms.

When it comes to scalability, Storm Streaming Server supports horizontal auto-scaling across your own infrastructure, with streams automatically distributed to edge nodes the moment they go live, and transcoding dynamically assigned based on load and priority. Storm Streaming Cloud extends this further with a globally distributed CDN spanning North America, Europe, and Asia.

Real-time analytics provide deep insight into what viewers are actually experiencing — including ultra-low latency playback metrics, buffer stability, and bandwidth usage — while stream health monitoring flags problematic broadcasts before they impact your audience.

Both products are managed through dedicated interfaces: Storm Streaming Server comes with a full-featured Control Panel for on-premise deployments, while Storm Streaming Cloud provides a powerful cloud Dashboard for managing hundreds of simultaneous broadcasts. An extensive REST API — with over 120 endpoints — is available for both products, enabling complete programmatic control over applications, streams, viewers, transcoding, and cluster management.

Both products come with a comprehensive suite of open-source SDKs and libraries for Web, Android, and iOS, along with thorough technical documentation, live demos, and dedicated 24/7 support.
