Tektronix Launches VideoInsight Seminar Series to Promote Video Quality Education

The Leading Experts in Video Quality Will Hit the Road through December to Showcase Key Techniques for Maintaining High Video Quality

BEAVERTON, Ore.(13 May 2013)

Tektronix (www.tektronix.com/video), the market leader in broadcast video test, monitoring and analysis solutions, today announced its latest free seminar series which provides a hands-on approach to perfecting video quality, from camera setup to the video that subscribers view from their set-top boxes. The seminars happening now will continue through December 2013, stopping in major cities in the U.S. and Canada. The interactive tour will have four different formats to meet a variety of video quality measuring needs.

In Troubleshooting Workshops, Tektronix engineers will show attendees the latest video quality troubleshooting techniques solutions for such applications as 3G-SDI, 3D, 4K, HDMI/HDCP and the CALM Act.  In the Video Quality Workshops, attendees will learn about content readiness for VoD and ad insertion applications, in addition to real-time advanced QoE monitoring and network troubleshooting and diagnostics.

In New York and Los Angeles Tektronix will host its Content Clinics where attendees are encouraged to bring their content so industry veterans can provide real-time feedback regarding picture quality, quality of experience impairments or file-based quality control compliance. Additionally, attendees who supply content to Netflix are invited to bring a content sample to be tested by the Cerify file-based content QC analyzer, which has been certified by Netflix to reduce time and expenses associated with having content approved by Netflix.

Participants in previous Tektronix seminars have raved about the amount of detailed information they reviewed covering the real-world digital video quality issues they face. Many of these attendees have noted that the information conveyed in these seminars has helped them solve daunting quality issues they were experiencing.  For example, Jim Hermanson with WHA-TV attended the seminar in Madison, WI on March 19, 2013 and said, "A great day, rich in information covering several digital technical issues we all face, or will face. A great presentation."

For members of the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) the Troubleshooting Workshops count toward one credit of category H of the SBE's recertification program.

In addition, Tektronix Field Engineers will present informative 90 minute sessions regarding Optimizing Network Performance at the SMPTE Regional Seminars, bringing highly practical, one day technical seminars to select local sections, where attendees learn about a particular technology via a concentrated session taught by leaders in the field.  Find these locations in the Tektronix registration site that links through to the SMPTE registration page.
