Aerocast Teams with Starz Encore
New streaming company, Aerocast (www.aerocast.com), announced Thursday it was starting a trial with Starz Encore to deliver movies to broadband users.
Starz Encore is one of the top cable movie networks.
In November, Aerocast secured $15 million in funding from Liberty Media and Motorola. San Diego-based Aerocast says it will officially launch its broadband video services in the next few weeks.
Warren Zeller, vice president of direct marketing for Starz Encore, said "Starz Encore believes the broadband streaming quality and the financial model offered by Aerocast will have profound implications for how premium services such as Encore will provide cross-promotional and complementary content to our vast digital television offerings."
Aerocast's management team includes acting President and CEO, Thomas J. Lynch, who comes from Motorola's Broadband Communications Sector, and co-founder and CTO, Nathan Raciborski, who most recently co-founded Axient.
