Glowpoint, which provides cloud-based managed video services, has announced a partnership with Avaya, which creates business collaboration tools. Together they'll develop managed services for multi-vendor and cross-protocol video environments.

Through the partnership, Avaya's video solutions will be enhanced with Glowpoint's portfolio of open video cloud managed services. Avaya offers unified communications, contact centers, data solutions, and related services through channel partners. Glowpoint's services simplify high-quality video conferencing and telepresence service between technologies, networks, or businesses.

"At Avaya, we provide a full range of communications managed services. Based on the demand we are seeing from our customers, we regard managed services for integrated video as a critical part of our overall unified communications strategy," says Avaya's operations services vice president Ed Nalbandian. "We believe collaborating with Glowpoint will allow us to offer customers and channel partners an extremely compelling and competitive solution."

"This relationship combines the leaders in the unified communications market and the managed video services market, which I believe is very powerful in this new era of mass video communications adoption," adds Joe Laezza, Glowpoint's president and CEO.
