Qumu Makes High-Res Video Desktop Presentations Easy

Creating a video presentation from your desktop is a simple and effective way to reach your audience, whether that's one person or one million. While there are already established screen capture programs on the market, Qumu sees an opening with one that's easy to use and packs more features.

Last week Qumu Inc. announced the release of Qumu Create, a video creation tool that lets you capture what's on your screen, combining it with video from up to two USB cameras. Besides live screen capture, you can also create a video commentary for a PowerPoint slideshow. Once you've finished your recording, the program includes an edit mode for trimming out any long pauses or rearranging sections.

A few extras help Qumu Create stand out. One, it captures full-resolution, full-screen videos of your work so you can use your entire desktop. The program offers four output resolutions, from 320 x 240 pixels to 1024 x 768 pixels, and captures video at 30 frames per second. Two, it can create all the HTML coding you need to embed a video on your site, so you don’t need to know any programming or tagging.

Qumu Create is available now for $75 per user, with volume discounts available. But don't dig up your credit card just yet: try the 30-day free trial first. The program runs on Windows XP and Vista systems only.
