Virage Launches Video Application Server 2.0

Virage (http://www.virage.com) announced the launch of the Virage Video Application Server 2.0, its solution for creating and maintaining video content.

It offers ways to add commerce, rights management, personalization and syndication for video content.

Additionally, it has a "SmartEncode" process, to manage the simultaneous encoding of multiple formats and bit rates of content while indexing it with VideoLogger for searchable video.

"By streamlining the process of integrating video into any web site, theVirage Video Application Server fills a role not served by basic encoders andvideo servers or even media asset management systems," said Mitchell Linden,Vice President of Strategy for Digital Media and Broadband Solutions at iXL.
