Loudeye Adds AudioBase to Its Encoding Repertoire

You can add AudioBase (http://www.audiobase.com) to the list of encoding formats that Loudeye ( http://www.loudeye.com) now supports.

Audiobase is a streaming system that doesn't use plug-ins or third party applications to play the audio file. Instead, users just need a Java-compatible browser to automatically begin listening to content.

In addition, AudioBase will also begin offering Loudeye's encodingservices to AudioBase customers.

"AudioBase allows us to continue offering our customers value while makingit easier to reach their customers with the multi-sensory experience of livevoice and music over the Internet," explained Doug Schulze, minister ofmarkets and solutions, vice president of marketing, Loudeye. "AudioBase has asolution that reaches 95% of online users, which along with our services, makes it easy for customers to unleash the value of audio and video on theirWeb site."

This is good news for Audiobase which doesn't currently have a large market share in the streaming field. The company says this deal will make it easier for companies to encode and deliver audio online. "Our technology is flexibleenough to reach consumers wherever they go on the Internet -- through emails, banners and Web sites," said AudioBase founder and CEO David Haynes. "Loudeye encoding will enable brands to digitize theiroffline audio assets for delivery online through AudioBase.""
