SIGHTSOUND.COM Completes $20 Million Round of Financing

Sightsound.com (http:// www.sightsound.com) announced that it received a $20 million investment from Intertainment A.G., a German distributor of motion picutres.

It also announced it received a patent "United States Patent 6014491."

"We continue to focus on the technology that serves the motion picture industry," SIGHTSOUND.COM President and CEO Scott Sander commented on the U.S. Patent titled "Method and System for Manipulation of Audio and Video Signals." "We believe this could be a breakthrough technology to reduce the file size of motion pictures to speed their distribution over the Internet."

Sightsound.com distributes movies and music on a pay-per watch or listen model. In 1995, the company was the first to offer music for download sale over the Internet; in 1999, the company was the first to offer feature-length motion pictures for download sale over the Internet.

In August 1999 the company announced that it will release the first direct-to-Internet movie, "The Quantum Project," from Metafilmics, in summer 2000.
