Apple iMovie 10.0: A Video Guide

AppleiMovieV10UtahWhy read about the newly released 10.0 version of Apple iMovie when you can watch videos instead? Here are three that should tell you everything you need to know.

First off, Apple senior vice president of internet software and services Eddy Cue announced the new iLife Suite at this week's unveiling. iLife includes iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand. If you have a newer model Mac, you've already got iLife and will get free upgrades once you upgrade your operating system to OS X 10.9 (which, this time around, is also free). Jump to 1:35 in this video to hear what's new in iLife.

For a tutorial on how to use the new version of iMovie, look to this helpful video created by Mac user Mitch Davis. Not only does Davis explain how to use all of the new features, but he answers viewer questions, as well. If there's something you're not sure about, leave a question below and Davis will likely answer it.

Finally, this video from YouTuber Alex Gollner shows what all of the effects, transitions, and titles look like in the updated iMovie. Gollner has created a simple video that applies all the effects, transitions, and titles to the same clip, so you can see exactly how they look. Watching this video is a great way to see what's possible and spur your creativity.
