This year's NAB will be all about reaching over-the-top video customers quickly, and video player and platform company JW Player is adding to that with its announcement of OTT Apps, a new offering that creates Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, and Android apps quickly. JW promises clients will be able to launch apps in weeks, not months. Besides streaming content, the apps will provide cross-platform analytics so clients can see how their investments are faring.

News 2OTT Apps will let clients provide a customized viewing experience to their subscribers, JW says. It claims the solution will be cost-effective and allow content owners to take advantage of the shift to internet-delivered video to the living room.

“In the next year, it will be difficult to find a dumb television. The prevalence of connected TVs and OTT platforms offers an incredible opportunity for media companies to reach their audiences directly, helping to achieve both their engagement and revenue goals," says Neil Deiter, vice president of global partner and product alliances at JW Player. "We are thrilled to be launching OTT Apps for our new and existing clients, allowing them to capitalize on opportunities in this rapidly changing landscape."

JW Player clients Insider Inc. and Gravitas have already turned to the company for OTT app creation. At NAB, JW will show the OTT Apps in its South Hall Upper booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
