MobiTV and Vidora Partner on Personalized Video Services

Online video services company MobiTV and artificial intelligence (AI) company Vidora announced today that they're partnering to offer personalized video services. The two are targeting operators and wireless carriers, promising to keep viewers engaged and watching longer.

The personalization services use Vidora's AI to measure behavior such as where customers click, how long they watch videos, where they scroll, and what videos they've watched previously. Combining that information with program metadata, they companies create profiles for all customers. They note that profiles adapt in real-time to offer the best content and layout for whatever device viewers choose.

MobiTV and Vidora are already working with several operators in the United States and elsewhere in the world, they say, although they decline to name them. The two companies plan to offer more sophisticated personalization features in the following months.

“Our next generation over-the-top video service is focused on presenting the right content at the right time,” says Fidel Zawde, vice president of product for MobiTV. “By the end of the year we expect more than 75,000 on-demand and linear TV programs to be discoverable within our service, so personalization is critical."

In September 2013, MobiTV announced it was working with Deutsche Telecom on that company's Entertain2Go multiscreen streaming service.
