iCAST Chooses INTERVU for Content Delivery

INTERVU (http://www.intervu.net) announced that iCAST ( http://www.icast.com), the newly launched entertainment company by CMGI, will use INTERVU's streaming media services to deliver music to its users.

By leveraging INTERVU's existing relationship with Muze, INTERVU will host and deliver more than one million 30-second promotional song clips in Microsoft's Windows Media format with links to Muze's music information database. The song clips will be accessible on iCAST's music channel and will be played by the iCASTER, iCAST's media player.

"The ability for music fans on icast.com to sample music and be one click away from purchasing it, is a tremendous value-added service," said Margaret Heffernan, president and COO of iCAST. "INTERVU's service is a great enhancement to our e-commerce offering."

"INTERVU is pleased to provide iCAST with our streaming music clip service in conjunction with Muze," said Ed Huguez, chief operating officer of INTERVU. "INTERVU's streaming services, combined with Muze's music information database, offer customers like iCAST the ability to build customer loyalty and satisfaction through streaming media solutions that highly complement e-commerce transactions."

iCAST is currently embroiled in an instant messaging war with America Online. The iCASTER includes instant messaging functions (through Tribal Voice's IM product) that originally connected to AOL's IM community. But AOL blocked the iCASTER's access to its service just days after iCASTER was released.
