Vingage Releases Vingage Server 5

Vingage (www.vingage.com) announced its version 5 of its Vingage Video Server.

The company said the new server is targeted to broader companies in the enterprise market that want to do distance learning or financial videos.

The Vingage server works by storing one local MPEG-1 file and streaming it into multiple formats (Real, Windows Media, QuickTime) and various bit rates. The new release also features AutoStream, which lets users deliver video from a single URL, as well Web-based administration and reporting.

"The Vingage Video Server 5 provides all of the necessary streaming functionality in an easy to use, turn-key package," said Daniel Schiappa, president and CEO of Vingage. "For the price of an encoding appliance, you get encoding, transcoding, optimized delivery and much more."

The server consists of video management component, a video processing component and storage.

The price for the server starts at under $60,000.
