Riffage.com Gets Boost From RealNetworks

Music destination site Riffage.com (http://www.riffage.com) announced a deal with RealNetworks to promote Riffage.com and its artists.

RealNetworks will create a dedicated showcase for Riffage.com artists in the Real.com Guide and highlight its music throughout the Real.com Network.

In turn, Riffage.com has selected RealJukebox to be included on its promotional CDs. It will also use Real's RBN to broadcast its live concert webcasts.

Perhaps more telling is that Riffage will start using RealNetworks RMP (Real Metadata Package) format. The RMP format is a type of MP3 file.

"Riffage.com is thoroughly excited about embarking on this broad initiative with RealNetworks, one of the companies that is truly driving the digital music industry forward," said Ken Wirt, CEO and founder of Riffage.com. A few weeks ago Riffage purchased the Great American Music Hall, a concert venue in San Fransisco for an undisclosed amount.
