Qumu Updates Video Control Center with Mobile Support
Qumu, a business video platform provider, announced a variety of updates today for its Video Control Center (VCC). VCC 6.2 gains mobile device support covering Apple, Google, and Microsoft tablets and smartphones.
Mobile device support includes streaming of both live videos and employee generated content. As smartphones become lifelines for mobile workers, those employees can now get a rich video experience anywhere they go. The platform works with HTML5 and native apps on mobile devices.
Delivering video to mobile users becomes easier with new Qumu Pathfinder technology, which lets companies provide a single link and be sure that it will work with any device and any platform.
Enterprise video becomes more like mainstream video, with new support for interactive live events, ratings, and comments. This version even includes improved security, with video player watermarking visible on every platform.
"The Qumu Video Platform solves the mobile video challenge, enabling employees to watch live and on-demand video on whatever device they choose," says Ray Hood, senior vice president and general manager of Qumu. "Qumu's developments in the area of adaptive streaming, content prepositioning, and the ability to automatically route streams based on device type and network connection are providing customers with real solutions to the associated network challenges with video."
Companies can record their meetings and search them later with spoken word indexing and search function.
By moving to the cloud, businesses can save money on a video communications system, Qumu says.
The QCS video capture and streaming appliance also gains support for Apple HTTP Live Streaming.
Enterprise solution solves problems of embedding, monitoring, and sharing, while maintaining security.
New tools for videoconferencing make it simpler to schedule and play back a recording session.
