Netgear Offers Three New Netgear NeoTV Models
The holidays must be approaching, because suddenly several streaming hardware devices are hitting the market. Netgear announced three new models in its NeoTV line today, which offer 1080p video, built-in Wi-Fi, Intel WiDi, and access to local files. The first two are revisions of existing products, with new prices and SKUs, but the third is entirely new.
The NeoTV (NTV300) includes Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections, a remote with one-button quick start, and the ability to stream video or music from Netflix, Vudu, Hulu Plus, YouTube, CinemaNow, Pandora, Rhapsody, and more. It lists for $49.99.
The NeoTV Pro (NTV300S) includes all of the above features, and adds in Intel WiDi support, letting users display their laptop screen on their television with 1080p video and 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound. The NeoTV Pro also includes an AV port that lets it work with sets that don't have an HDMI port. It lists for $59.99.
Finally, the NeoTV Max includes all the above features, adding the ability to show personal files stored on external hard drives, USB drives, and DLNA media servers. It includes a remote with a full QWERTY keyboard on one side for easy typing. The NeoTV Max can also play 3D streaming movies from Vudu on 3D-enabled TVs. This model lists for $69.99.
All three models are available starting today, either online or from major electronic stores.
Low-cost set-top boxes from Netgear let owners search the Web with Google or receive content sent from a Slingbox.
