Encoding.com and Wowza Partner for Encoding Presets

Article Featured Image

Cloud encoding company Encoding.com and Wowza Media Systems, which makes media server software, have gotten together to offer Wowza Media Server customers built-in Encoding.com presets.

While the Wowza Media Server can be used for both live and video-on-demand adaptive bitrate streaming, the two companies note that preparing videos for multiple devices and formats can be a challenge for many companies. The presets, then, give customers an easy way to create adaptive bitrate files for any screen.

"Wowza has done an amazing job simplifying the very complex process of streaming video to the plethora of devices and platforms," says Jeff Malkin, president of Encoding.com. "This partnership expands that notion by leveraging Encoding.com's custom Wowza transcoding presets, so Wowza customers can remove yet another complicated component in their video workflow."

For its part, Wowza is enthusiastic about the simplicity this will bring to customers.

"Wowza is committed to offering our customers unified solutions to manage their live and on-demand video delivery," says Dave Stubenvoll, CEO and co-founder of Wowza Media Systems. "By partnering with Encoding.com, a trusted brand in the video ecosystem, our customers no longer need to struggle with the complex encoding process. Encoding.com simply takes care of it."
