Crackle, a video entertainment network owned by Sony Pictures, is raising its profile by offering free ad-supported movies on PlayStation 3 consoles, Roku boxes, and Sony Blu-Ray Players or Bravia televisions. Crackle has previously announced availability on Google TV devices.

This adds a welcome free option for movie streaming, even if the movies are supported by commercials. All movies are uncut. Crackle is offering a library of hundreds of movies and TV shows in all genres.

Available titles will rotate, with approximately 20 titles added each month from Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Screen Gems, and Sony Pictures Classics.

Crackle's current offerings include The Da Vinci Code, 21, Ghostbusters, Bad Boys, Big Daddy, A Few Good Men, The Patriot, and Mr. Deeds.

Movies will be available in the U.S. and Canada for those using a PlayStation 3 or Google TV devices, but in the U.S. only for those using a Roku or Sony television or Blu-ray Player.

"Crackle is the best single source of ad-supported Hollywood films and television series on the Internet," says Eric Berger, senior vice president of digital networks at Sony Pictures Television. "By making our extensive collection of content available on these platforms, we're bringing an unparalleled viewing experience directly to consumers through their Internet-enabled devices."
