Clearleap Offers Nielsen C3 Solution for Online Video

Clearleap, an IP-based content management and distribution company based in Atlanta, Georgia, is announcing a service today that will let television broadcasters bring their content to online and video-on-demand platforms sooner, to better take advantage of Nielsen C3 ratings.

For those not familiar, Nielsen's C3 ratings system measures the average ad minutes viewed during a broadcast. In a nod to our time-shifting, online age, it includes the data from three days of DVR, video-on-demand, and online viewing. The faster broadcasters can get their content online in that 72-hour window, the more ad revenue they stand to gain.

To help out with that workflow, Clearleap has introduced ClearFlow media services with C3 support. The system captures high-quality output, so that programs only need to be recorded and distributed once. It includes metadata and customization abilities, and is a purely iP-based distribution system.

Clearleap captures programs from the uplink facility, creating a high-bitrate mezzanine file. Tools allow for content trimming, so that needed ads can be included with the distributed file.

"With so many viewing options available today, the C3 ratings system is rapidly becoming a critical component in measuring ratings and viewing habits," says Clearleap's CEO Braxton Jarratt. "Clearleap is helping programmers take advantage of this profit potential with an easy-to-use, cost-effective service, and it is available today."
