For customers that don't just need traditional OVP hosting and delivery services, but need video content, as well, Brightcove has expanded its relationship with 5min Media, making hundreds of thousands of videos available to its customers. Brightcove Pro and Enterprise customers will be able to access 5min Media's library of premium titles.

In the partnership, 5min Media is able to expand the reach of its content, while its publishers gain new revenue outlets. Brightcove's customers will be able to offer quality content to their viewers.

The 5min Media library is divided into 20 categories and over 140 sub-categories, with videos created by both independent producers and large media companies. Videos are available in the areas of tech, fashion, celebrity, and food, among others. 5min Media was acquired by AOL in September, 2010, and is a unit of the AOL Advertising.com Group.

"The 5min Media and Brightcove partnership brings together two leading video platforms creating a unique opportunity for thousands of clients to easily access and use high-quality, relevant video," says Ran Harnevo, co-founder and CEO of 5min Media and senior vice president of AOL Video. "The demand for online video is exponentially growing at a fast rate and, by partnering with Brightcove, we are bringing a solution to the marketplace to meet that demand. This is a win-win for both companies as well as our content partners."
