Application Service Provider, RocketVox Gets $2 million

Seattle-based RocketVox (http://www.rocketvox.com) said today it secured $2 million in seed financing from individual investors.

The new company says it will specialize in niche video programming.

"Special interest video content that helps users learn a new skill, completea task or take a trip is the ultimate sticky content for websites," saidKelly Smith, founder and chief executive officer of RocketVox. "As morebusinesses look to integrate highly-targeted rich media, they will look toRocketVox to provide them with a large selection of streaming video relevantto the interests of their users - increasing customer loyalty and generatingadvertising and e-commerce revenues."

Kelly Smith, previously with Real Networks, foundedRocketVox in February 2000. The company includes AtomFilms founder and CEO, Mika Salmi in its board of advisors.

The company will aggregate special interest videos and provide private label video applications for merchants, portals, and other digital sites that want to include streaming media
