Adobe Creative Cloud Gains a Variety of Video Updates for NAB
Just ahead of NAB, Adobe has once again released several updates to its Creative Cloud suite of video and audio production apps. Premiere Pro users might find they're more productive thanks to the Freeform Project panel, which lets them rearrange and resize video clip icons in a freehand storyboard way. It's a new feature that already feels essential. Editors can even mark in and out points in their clips, then import their work into the timeline editor for fine-tuning.
Premiere Pro also gains rulers and guides, which help ensure consistency when adding graphics and still images. Users should appreciate the new View menu and improved text and font controls.
This update's marquee addition is the Content-Aware Fill in After Effects, which simplifies the onerous work of removing unwanted objects from a frame, such as an errant boom mic. The feature relies on Sensei, Adobe's artificial intelligence engine, which replaces the chosen object with an appropriate background. Both Premiere Pro and After Effects gain AI-powered Auto Ducking, which dynamically adjusts the volume of ambient sound so dialog can be better heard.
All new features to Creative Cloud are available to subscribers now. Adobe will demo them in its South Hall Lower booth during NAB.

Advertisers will be able to target likely prospects at scale, buy OTT ads programmatically, and measure the results. The partnership could be a win for Adobe, Roku, and even the viewers.
Finally out of private beta, Premiere Rush CC offers mobile-first video editing that combines pro feature with a simple interface.
Look for animation, audio, and collaboration improvements when the next version of Adobe Creative Cloud debuts later this year.
