Zixi Appoints John Towers as Chief Financial Officer
Former Sony and Fabric Data finance chief to steer Zixi's next phase of growth as broadcasters, sports leagues and streamers accelerate the shift from satellite to IP

Zixi, the industry leader in live video delivery and workflow orchestration, today announced the appointment of John Towers as Chief Financial Officer. Towers brings more than 20 years of experience in media and entertainment, including senior finance and operating roles at Sony, Deluxe and Fabric Data. He will lead Zixi's finance function as the company scales to meet growing demand from broadcasters, sports leagues and streaming platforms moving live video from satellite and legacy infrastructure to IP.
Towers joins Zixi from Fabric Data, a SaaS company that provides a single source of truth for metadata across the entertainment industry, where as CFO he spent three years helping the company expand its operations and services. Before Fabric Data, he spent two years in corporate development at Deluxe, following the sale of Sony's digital video distribution business to Deluxe, a transaction Towers oversaw.
At Sony, Towers served as COO and President of the digital video distribution division, having joined it as CFO in 2012 as the industry moved into digital content distribution and OTT. Before that, he was CFO of the Sony division responsible for manufacturing Blu-ray discs in the United States, working on the format's launch in 2006. He began his career in finance roles in pharmaceutical manufacturing, including a five-year posting in Paris.
