Witbe announces the launch of a unique cloud-service OTT video monitoring offer on its new reference network, Galilei

New York, NY(27 Jun 2017)

Witbe, (Euronext Growth - FR0013143872 - ALWIT), the leader in Quality of Experience (QoE) monitoring for digital services, announced the launch of its new cloud-service offer for OTT (Over the Top) video monitoring. Already adopted on-premise by multiple operators and broadcasters to analyze and optimize the quality of their OTT video services, this offer can now be delivered through Witbe’s reference network, Galilei, from many points of presence in the world (San Jose, Denver, Montreal, New York, Paris, Singapore, etc.).

Implemented from the very beginning of Witbe with a first iteration for web service monitoring, the reference network Galilei, with newly increased performances, allows to:

    • Deliver KPIs with great accuracy, emancipated from eventual perturbations due to third-party hosting network.
    • Follow over time, with a constant frame of reference, the evolution of the performance of a service, regardless of the stability of the network used to verify the measurements.
    • Know precisely the quality of an OTT video service being delivered by reducing the number of intermediate networks used during measurements.
    • Provide an offer “by the KPI” to operators and broadcasters with no infrastructure required.
For the past seventeen years, Witbe has been the only QoE Monitoring expert with its own IP network, entirely dedicated to measuring the performance of its customers’ digital services, defined by its own operator number: AS15436. This enables Witbe to have direct access to more than 120,000 networks through peering, including the most important ones, such as Apple, Google, Youtube, Yahoo, but also the rest of the Internet through powerful transit partners, such as Opentransit or Zavo.

To anticipate the resources needed to measure new OTT video services, the new architecture of Witbe’s reference network Galilei is already operational on many POPs (Points of Presence) throughout the world. All the essential infrastructures are already redundant and interconnected. A software intelligence has been added to the hardware redundancy to visualize all the resources, allowing the setup of a Witbe Monitoring Robot, Video or Applicative, on demand and in a few minutes, with a growing capacity unlike any other on the market.

Marie-Véronique Lacaze, President and CEO of Witbe, said: “Right from the beginning, we were convinced that we could not measure a service’s variations of quality, using a network with random performances. It was crucial to have our own network, to establish a frame of reference with constant measurements. We completely control the performances of our reference network Galilei, and it is especially adapted for OTT video measures. Witbe is proving its unique expertise on the market and its desire to assist its clients in their daily challenge to deliver all their services with the best Quality of Experience possible.”.
