Viddler’s Arpeggio Hits the Right Notes
Newly-released, mobile-first HTML5 video player delivers advanced interactivity to all Viddler clients

Today, Viddler announced the general release of Arpeggio, the company’s responsive, interactive video player. Following an extensive research and development agenda, Viddler has created an HTML5 player that provides measurable value for corporations and nonprofits, training and distance learning companies, as well as web and media publishers.
Interactive Collaboration for the Enterprise
Arpeggio includes Viddler’s patented interactive commenting that makes it easy for enterprise users to communicate at specified points in the video timeline. “Businesses are just beginning to realize the potential of cloud-based collaboration, as you can see with Amazon’s Zocalo announcement,” said Viddler President Tom Stine. “With the high level of interaction and security we provide, Arpeggio is to corporate video what Zocalo is to online corporate documents.”
In-timeline tags, comments, and replies can be open or moderated, and the comments can appear as overlays or separate lists. Both the player and the comments section are responsively designed for multiple screen sizes and orientations.
Additional Features
The player also includes multilingual caption support, playback speed control, “skip ahead / go back,” and other features designed for corporate training and distance learning. Arpeggio-played videos include advanced analytics critical to web and media publishers.
Richie Hyden, COO of video developer IRIS.TV, praised the new player environment as a boon to online content providers. “The Arpeggio offering enables an array of content providers to stream content cross-device with ease, and with advanced, customized functionalities,” he said. IRIS.TV’s unique video recommendation engine is available separately to Viddler customers.
Later this year, Arpeggio will also include advanced features, such as chapter menu navigation, email capture, and quiz/question integration, that will further enable Viddler clients to reduce costs and increase viewer engagement.
