Unified Video Technologies Designs and Implements NOC for Totalmovie Global Streaming Service

Network Operations Center to ensure uniform high-quality user experience across strategic distribution partners in markets worldwide

Miami, Florida(15 May 2013)

Unified Video Technologies (UNIV), specialists in developing, integrating and operating complete high-performance media and broadcast ecosystems for broadcasters and enterprises, has installed an advanced network operation center (NOC) in Miami for Totalmovie, a leader in online premium on-demand video entertainment.  The NOC supports Totalmovie’s innovative global internet live-TV and subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) services.

UNIV designed the NOC in close collaboration with Totalmovie and implemented it within Totalmovie’s extremely tight timetable.  For linear content, the NOC includes an end-to-end workflow for downlinking digital signals, digitizing linear feeds, transcoding assets, creating linear playouts and monitoring streams for quality at every point.  It can deliver over 40 live feeds, host catch-up TV and an unlimited number of videos, and create over eight profiles for each asset to ensure seamless mobile device playback.

In a novel distribution approach designed to facilitate its over-the top (OTT) video streaming service’s rapid expansion to new markets, Totalmovie is collaborating with strategic distribution partners around the world.  UNIV will replicate the NOC in additional markets as Totalmovie expands its services.  This will ensure faithful replication of the high-quality Totalmovie user experience for both linear playout and VOD services across all distribution partners.

“We approached UNIV based on their sterling reputation for agility and creative problem-solving.  We were thrilled with their excellent service, keen attention to our needs, and ability to design and build an outstanding NOC that can be easily installed in our locations worldwide within an extremely tight timeframe,” said Richard Johnson, Totalmovie, President and COO.

Totalmovie, a Grupo Salinas company, currently operates online premium video streaming services in 40 countries.  The company aims to become the world's first global "cable" video service, providing personalized premium entertainment to consumers across every connected screen in today's converged digital world.

“The sophisticated NOC implemented by UNIV allows Totalmovie to truly stand out in the competitive internet-based entertainment market for its commitment to high video quality as well as for its innovative offering of both linear and SVOD services. The intelligent, comprehensive solution supports interoperability, reduces complexity, and enhances speed and efficiency to provide a uniquely seamless customer experience,” said UNIV CEO Pablo Goldstein.
