Total Webcasting Provides Full Service Webcasting for Columbia University’s World Leaders Forum

Total Webcasting streams annual World Leaders Forum to a worldwide audience.

New Paltz, NY(30 Sep 2013)

Columbia University held its annual World Leaders Forum this past week at their campus in New York City. The five-day Forum, held in conjunction with the United Nations General Assembly, provides a platform for an open dialogue on current political, economic, and social affairs. The live programs—which each drew crowds of approximately 200 people—were open to students, faculty, and staff of Columbia University, Barnard College, and Teachers College who registered before the event reached capacity. In order to open the live programs to an audience who otherwise would be unable to attend, they were also webcast by Total Webcasting, who was chosen based on their Full Service offering of managed live event streaming and on-demand hosting and archiving.

At the forefront of Total Webcasting’s Full Service webcasting solution is their TW Mediacart—a portable production and encoding system. The TW Mediacart is compact, unobtrusive, and was designed to by Total Webcasting to be operated by just one technician. Utilized in conjunction with the TW Mediacart is Total Webcasting’s Software as a Service content management system, Total Asset Manager (TAM). Along with hosting and archiving the webcast, and features such as dynamic portal generation and viewer registration, TAM also generates detailed geographic viewer statistics, which reported that the World Leaders Forum was streamed to nearly 3000 viewers in over 40 countries across the world, including the United Kingdom, South Africa, Indonesia, and Peru.
