Thrillist Acquires Hit Youtube Series “Send Foodz” From Comedians Timothy Delaghetto and David So

The Series Marks Thrillist’s First-Ever IP Acquisition, Development Expansion Underscores Publisher’s YouTube Prioritization in 2019

NEW YORK, NY(12 Feb 2019)

Thrillist, the most trusted resource in food, drink, travel, and entertainment, announced today that it has acquired the hit YouTube series Send Foodz from digital creator and comedian, Timothy DeLaGhetto (3.9 Million subscribers) and partner David So (1.4 Million subscribers). This marks Thrillist’s first IP acquisition and underscores the brand’s emphasis on developing and producing high-quality, engaging show series across mobile platforms.

Send Foodz follows world-renowned YouTube comedians and foodies, Timothy DeLaGhetto and David So as they give an inside look at the biggest and most craved food festivals across the U.S., sampling the best bites and sips the country has to offer. Whether it’s testing the hottest hot sauces at the Hops and Hot Sauce Festival in Houston or pigging out at the world’s largest bacon festival in Des Moines, Tim and David definitely have you covered when it comes to exploring the most sought after and Instagram-able food events out there.

“We’re thrilled to bring Tim and David’s hit YouTube show Send Foodz under the Thrillist umbrella and build upon the hilarious, yet mouth-watering series that they’ve brought to fans to date,” said Thrillist’s President Ocean MacAdams. “The acquisition and development expansion make perfect sense as Thrillist continues to prioritize serialized YouTube programming in 2019 and builds on our existing content slate to bring fans the most engaging, entertaining shows from the brand who knows the best in food, drink, travel and entertainment.”

"I can't wait for Thrillist and Send Foodz to come together and make sweet, sweet love,” said show creator Timothy DeLaGhetto. “David and I are all about being as raw and real as possible when it comes to our food adventures, and I think Thrillist is the perfect new home for all the shenanigans."

The Send Foodz acquisition comes on the heels of Thrillist’s first-ever content slate spearheaded by Thrillist’s Head of Video, Justin Lundstrom, which featured the introduction of four new series: the premieres of Instachef and Gatekeepers; the return of its hit pizza-enthusiast series Really Dough? on February 11, 2019, as well as the upcoming debuts of Somm To Go - a brand-new wine x fast food pairing educational series - and The List Show - a new animated series with comedian Mekki Lepper who reinterprets Thrillist’s editorial lists in a hilarious and inventive new way.

Send Foodz will debut on February 14, 2019 at 2pm ET on Thrillist’s YouTube channel with new episodes airing every other Thursday. The show will be distributed across other mobile and OTT platforms in the future.
