Sorenson Media today announced that Technicolor, the industry-leading provider of high-end on-set, dailies, post-production, visual effects, and animation services has chosen to utilize the Sorenson Squeeze Solution Pack to build its innovative ShareVUE dailies solution, a cloud-based content management system for its motion picture and television studio clients. Technicolor plans to introduce its new system, currently in field test stage of development, in Q2 2011.
"We chose to use the Squeeze Solution Pack by Sorenson Media because of its industry-leading encoding technology and innovation," said Technicolor Creative Services President Claude Gagnon. "This technology gives us an unprecedented combination of convenience, flexibility, agility, and quality for encoding high volumes of source content for delivery to any device."
"It is a genuine honor to be chosen by Technicolor, one of the most iconic and consequential names in global entertainment, to develop a new-breed video encoding and delivery system," said Kirk Punches, Vice President of Business Development for Sorenson Media. "In response to accelerating industry demand, we created Squeeze Solution Pack to leverage the power of the cloud to transform the onerous, resource-hemorrhaging process of transcoding video into a flexible, manageable workflow with built-in capabilities that can automatically scale up to manage even the most demanding encoding jobs and queues."
To meet the needs of companies of all sizes and in all stages of their lifecycles, Sorenson Media has also announced four new service-level categories for the Squeeze Solution Pack: Starter, with platform licensing beginning at $2,500 monthly; Standard, starting at $4,000; Enterprise, starting at $10,000; and Enterprise Pro, starting at $12,000. Each level features Sorenson Gold Service Support, a premium on-boarding package, custom preset consulting, high-level project management and engineering advisory support.
Running on Sorenson Media's gold-standard Squeeze encoding technology, the cloud-based Sorenson Squeeze Solution Pack enables the creation of highly flexible and scalable custom encoding solutions. Sorenson Media's enterprise solutions work seamlessly with all leading industry formats, including Flash, H.264 and WebM, and also enables users to simultaneously publish encoded videos to a host of destinations automatically-including the Sorenson 360 online video platform, content delivery networks (CDNs), network folders, websites, YouTube accounts and other locations.
In addition to secure delivery and Sorenson Media's award-winning video quality, Sorenson Squeeze Solution Pack has the flexibility to automatically scale encoding servers up to meet demand or down to maximize efficiency and minimize costs in times of lower usage.
Technicolor ShareVUE will be demonstrated at the 2011 NAB Show at the Sorenson Media booth located at SU9502E3.
