Optibase Launches Full Motion Video Solution For Real-Time Viewing, Archiving & Retrieval Of ISR Content

The Fully Integrated Tactical IPTV System (FITIS) combines advanced Full Motion Video (FMV) tools with situational awareness workflows to provide a scalable, secure and network-efficient turn-key solution across the enterprise.

Mountain View, CA (05 Aug 2010)

Optibase, a leading provider of advanced video solutions, today announced the introduction of FITIS, the first truly integrated full motion video enterprise IPTV solution that uses advanced H.264 compression and the latest MISB KLV metadata standards. FITIS offers an end-to-end solution for processing, broadcasting, archiving, indexing and managing tactical video. The FITIS solution is designed to address the growing demand for accessing real-time situational awareness and annotated video by various end-points in the IT cloud. FITIS open architecture and its comprehensive integration with existing IT and FMV equipment already in use on the battlefield enable government and military entities to deploy, activate and maintain advanced video services seamlessly and effectively.

FITIS provides the infrastructure required to propagate scenario-specific video imagery generated by UAVs and other sensors in a variety of formats and bandwidth constraints, ranging from high-definition ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) footage for analysts to ultra-compressed streams that can be successfully transmitted to tactical forces at the edge.  Forces can quickly leverage live and recorded video to enhance processing, exploitation and dissemination (PED) of motion imagery and create actionable intelligence upon which operational units can rely. FITIS Asset Management module effectively manages the sheer mass of video assets, which can easily overwhelm manpower resources of even large entities and slow decision-making processes. Designed in close collaboration with end-users, Optibase FITIS meets the required security, interoperability, reliability and scalability requirements for mission critical applications that support troops in the constantly evolving theater of operation.

Warfare today is much more complex and evolving more rapidly than ever before. Operational units rely on Full Motion Video gathered by unmanned aircrafts and other sources. The exponential increase and availability of IP video streams calls for flexible, centralized IPTV systems that support legacy video codecs as well as new advanced standards and allows efficient playback, sorting and retrieval of vital video assets.” said Eli Garten, VP Product Management at Optibase.  “With thousands of H.264 encoders deployed and tens of thousands of IPTV users, Optibase has been a leader in providing innovative, high-end compression and streaming solutions for government and military entities. With FITIS, we are introducing an effective way to manage and distribute FMV content and metadata while addressing the complex challenges involved in deploying and maintaining such systems. Based on our experience with end-users and the IT administrators, we designed FITIS with scalability, ease of integration, bandwidth efficiency and reliability in mind. We are excited to add it to our comprehensive portfolio of video solutions.
