NetDNA.com, a leading Los Angeles-based content delivery network (CDN) and advertising delivery  provider, announced today that it has partnered with Wowza Media Systems, the media server software company, to serve all of its audio and video streaming content through the Wowza Media Server 2 platform. By taking advantage of Wowza’s unified delivery platform it allows NetDNA.com, and its brands MaxCDN.com and HDDN.com to make a major impact in the media streaming market without having to invest in multiple delivery platform licenses and management requirements.
“We looked at many solutions from dedicated Windows and Adobe media servers, to just offering http pseudo streaming through lighttpd,” said Chris Ueland President and CTO of NetDNA. “Ultimately, we decided to go with Wowza because of three factors, their great customer service and support, stable flexible platform and overall cost of implementation and management.”
Through its partnership with Wowza, NetDNA plans to offer the most affordable and easiest to use video and audio delivery platform around the globe.  With the launch of its HDDN.com video-focused brand, NetDNA has taken a giant leap into the streaming media market by offering high quality, competitively priced packages to serve high definition content through its dedicated high-speed distribution network. Ben Neumann, NetDNA’s Chief Executive Officer confirmed: “With the double digit growth of video consumption on the Web, only the most nimble companies will ultimately succeed. Our company and brands are well established to deliver what we promise and outperform our competitors at a fraction of their cost.”
NetDNA’s management team has structured its hardware deployments and company philosophy around being agile, able to react to the end-users needs and to scale as growth demands. Because of how versatile each Wowza media server is, it allows NetDNA to take advantage of its full content delivery footprint around the globe utilizing the NetDNA Anycast DNS network for intelligent packet routing as well as integration between the Wowza API and the custom NetDNA API for improved customer implementation and setup.
Alex Dobrushin, Chief Marketing Officer for Wowza Media System said, “NetDNA, and its HDDN video CDN brand are a great addition to our already formidable list of Streaming Partners. We are encouraged to see companies like NetDNA use our product in new and inventive ways, and we look forward to working with them to take uniformed video delivery beyond the next generation.”
