MuxIP Announces FASTHub Solution for Creating, Managing Streaming Channels

FASTHub by MuxIP Centralizes Distribution For Ad-Supported Streamers, Broadcasters, Satcasters

(09 Sep 2022)

MuxIP, a leading provider of automated solutions for ad-supported streaming, today announced the introduction of its FASTHub solution at IBC 2022. FASTHub is a cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) solution that rapidly encodes, prepares, packages, and distributes channels – including broadcast satellite, and digital – to any OTT platform, TV device, or application. Based on patented technology, FASTHub converts broadcast streams to digital, enabling the rapid creation of Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels at lower costs and with greater revenue generation than competing solutions. MuxIP will attend the IBC conference in Amsterdam today through Monday, September 12th, to discuss FASTHub.

Designed as a rapid service creation platform that enables a wide range of monetization models, FASTHub originates channels and/or collects them from anywhere and distributes them everywhere using an extensive portfolio of encoding, multiplexing and packaging services to enable customized OTT distribution. The FASTHub value lies in flexibly evolving with customer demands and delivering content to multiple endpoints across multiple networks. FASTHub provides rapid custom programming and distribution of client content for OTT channels or to third-party services including Sling TV, Pluto TV,  YouTube, Amazon Prime Video as well as Smart TVs or Connected TV (CTV) OEMs (including Vizio, TCL, Samsung TV Plus, Hisense), and telecom operators.

“The market for FAST content is exploding, and this means that traditional broadcasters, cablers, and satcasters are migrating into streaming content with ad support in order to meet the viewer wherever they are,” said Tom Link, CEO of MuxIP. “The change agent for FAST is in generating channels and enabling profitable distribution and ad service at rapid rates that the current OTT industry does not support. We are creating FAST at warp speed.”

The MuxIP FASTHub service processes multiple formats from mezzanine to uncompressed video in any transport mode (e.g., Zixi, SRT, etc.) and any codec, and transcodes video to all outbound formats (e.g., HLS, RTMP, SRT, Zixi, etc.).

“The transition from linear over-the-air and cable to OTT has only heightened the intense interest in solutions that can deliver high viewership at lower cost with brand safety and security for both publishers and viewers,” said Jonathan French, senior vice president of sales and business development for MuxIP. “Our FASTHub service is the cloud’s answer to broadcast-quality transmission; we can package linear channels for any direct-to-consumer service in just a few days.”
