Kinema Adds 60+ New Titles to Growing Content Library

Kinema, a new community-centric, cinematic experience platform, today announces the expansion of its film library to a total of more than 60+ new titles. Kinema continues to grow its partners who are committed to extending the reach of cinematic experiences in non-theatrical settings, both virtually and in-person, to communities and audiences around the world. New partners include Magnolia Pictures, Greenwich Entertainment, Abramorama, Cargo Releasing, Frameline, Film Movement and Well Go USA. The rollout of the new titles, all of which have experienced global film festival recognition and critically-acclaimed industry review, will continue this summer into the late fall. 

The library expansion marks Kinema’s embrace of a plethora of film genres. New titles represent a mix of international language, horror, comedy, sci-fi, kung fu, cult classics,documentary and drama. The diverse offerings reflect Kinema’s commitment to supporting under-represented voices and bold artistic filmmaking. Of the films:

  • 35% are directed by women
  • 28% are directed by BIPOC
  • 15% are directed by LGBTQ+ 
  • 35% have a leading female role/main subject
  • 30% have a BIPOC leading role/main subject
  • 30% have a LGBTQ+ leading role//main subject  

Horror film “Let The Right One In”, courtesy of Magnolia Pictures will be available in time to host screenings in October leading up to Halloween while the famed martial arts film series “IP Man”, courtesy of Well Go USA and Magnolia Pictures will be available for viewing in November. The aforementioned are just two of the new titles coming to Kinema. 

Each film will be available to screen on Kinema’s platform for a minimum of three months.

Other library highlights include:

  • Evergreen documentaries “Food Inc”, “RBG”, “Black Fish”, “Jiro Dreams of Sushi” and “I Am Not Your Negro” courtesy of Magnolia Pictures
  • Cult sci-fi hit “The Quiet Earth” courtesy of Film Movement
  • Current and upcoming theatrical and VOD titles include “Swan Song”, “Yakuza Princess” and “May Day'' courtesy of Magnolia Pictures; “The Conservation Game” and “Flint'' courtesy of Cargo Releasing; “Not Going Quietly”, “Barbara Lee: Truth to Power” and “¡Viva Maestro!” courtesy of Greenwich Entertainment.

As Kinema continues to expand its offerings in various ways, the platform also launches Movie Monday, a weekly screening and discussion series that showcases Kinema’s new films and the filmmakers behind them. Screenings will be held every Monday at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST.
