IBC2021 Technical Papers Submission is Now Open

IBC announces that the call for Technical Papers is open for the IBC2021 Conference.

London(14 Jan 2021)

IBC announces that the call for Technical Papers is open for the IBC2021 Conference.

IBC is world-renowned for the quality, timeliness and innovative subject matter of its Technical Papers. The event is an excellent opportunity for forward-thinking technologists and companies to unveil their ideas and research to media industry leaders hungry for new technology concepts, their possible uses and practical applications.

The Technical Papers Programme welcomes entries from all industry sectors across the media, entertainment and technology sector and from every discipline, whether you are a professional or a professor, a member of an R&D team, working alone or with a global brand and from across any part of the broadcast, communications, electronic media and entertainment fields.

IBC Technical Papers present original, novel research on solutions to real world problems faced by the international broadcast and digital media industry and are non-commercial. At this initial stage IBC is inviting 300-word synopses, including an overview of the topic, highlighting unique approaches and key background information.

Dr Paul Entwistle, Chair of IBC's Technical Papers Committee, said, “The opportunity for innovation in our technically diverse industry continues unabated.  AI/Machine learning is a prime example that has moved rapidly from curio to business tool with applications spanning encoding to synthetic actors to assisted production. The steady evolution of VR/AR continues to impress and 5G sits on the cusp of creating real change. Progress also brings challenges - content security, fake news and sustainability. We are genuinely appreciative of the support the industry shows the Technical Papers programme and look forward to continuing to showcase authors, whose work sits at the cutting-edge, challenges the norm, or shares useful and practical insight.”

All submissions are rigorously reviewed by a panel of professional experts. Papers accepted for presentation at the IBC Conference have the opportunity to win the highly coveted Best Conference Paper Award, presented at the IBC Awards.

The deadline for submissions is Monday 1 February 2021. Entries can be submitted at https://show.ibc.org/technical-papers-2021/technical-papers-submission-form-2021
