Bedford, Mass.(23 Oct 2001)
Genesys Conferencing (Nasdaq: GNSY; Euronext: 3955), the world's leading conferencing specialist, today announced Genesys Meeting Center, the world's first platform that fully integrates audio and Web conferencing, accessible on demand through the Web. Genesys Meeting Center takes virtual communication to the next level -- true real-time collaboration. And Genesys Conferencing's aggressive pricing model changes the rules of competition and opens the market of Web collaboration by driving prices down by more than 90%.
A strategic breakthrough in the conferencing and collaboration industry
Genesys Meeting Center is a new platform that combines the simplicity of the telephone with the impact of the Internet, turning the PC into a universal communications tool. Genesys Meeting Center incorporates the company's TeleMeeting audio controls (the industry's most comprehensive audio conference management capability) and PowerShare Web conferencing (the most complete set of Web conferencing tools available). The result is a robust, intuitive Web interface that gives users access to a virtual conference room, available 24/7.
"With Genesys Meeting Center, we are demonstrating once again our ability
to foresee and lead the future of conferencing by delivering a truly virtual office, making virtual communications now as close to face-to-face
communication as possible," said Francois Legros, CEO of Genesys Conferencing.
"Because of Genesys Conferencing's technology leadership and commitment to
proprietary research and development, we are able to offer our customers the most powerful audio and Web feature set and functionality in the conferencing industry for less than 50 $ per month."
Innovative, user-friendly features Genesys Meeting Center enables presenters to conduct sales meetings, marketing seminars, online product announcements and channel communication with the same impact and results as in-person meetings. Users need no formal training. Its new features include many advanced and streamlined conference management tools.
"Genesys Meeting Center is remarkably easy to use. It has opened the door
to a new way for us to easily collaborate worldwide," said Suzanne Murray,
senior telecom engineer at Terra Lycos, the largest global Internet network.
With Genesys Meeting Center, the moderator manages all aspects of the
meeting through a single application and interface.
-- A unique audio status and control bar next to participants' names
identifies the active speaker and allows the moderator to manage the audio
portion of the conference along with the Web portion.
-- Presenters can deliver dynamic multimedia presentations, collaborate
and share any application running on their computers, conduct follow-me Web
tours and jump between applications at any time during the meeting.
-- Genesys Meeting Center provides organizers with a comprehensive
invitation wizard with Microsoft Outlook integration, RSVP and reminder for
easy invitation management.
-- Conference organizers can schedule polls in advance and pre-select Web pages.
-- Other new advanced features include waiting room, sub conference rooms, mute and unmute, ad hoc polling, and live text chat that can be conducted during the conference and then archived.
-- With advanced streaming and archiving capabilities, participants can
attend a conference call or working session through their PCs, in real time or at a later date, through archived sessions. Live conferences can be streamed to reach wider audiences through the Web.
A distributed and scalable platform Genesys Meeting Center is hosted on Genesys's global, fault-tolerant, and scalable network with multiple bridge locations across the 18 countries in which the Company operates. High capacity data centers located in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific ensure that customers will enjoy the highest quality and reliability of service.
