Eyevinn releases open-source live encoder as a one-field service on Open Source Cloud
Eyevinn Technology has made its open-source live encoder available as a ready-made stack on Open Source Cloud: one required setting, RTMP from OBS in, adaptive HLS for the browser out.
Stockholm, Sweden(13 Oct 2026)
Eyevinn Technology today made its open-source live encoder, Eyevinn Live Encoding, available as a ready-made stack on Open Source Cloud. A user creates one instance with a single required setting, its name, points OBS Studio or any RTMP encoder at the endpoint it returns, and gets an adaptive HLS stream that plays in a standard browser player. No code is required.
The encoder is built on ffmpeg and published under the MIT licence at github.com/Eyevinn/live-encoding, so it can also be run on the user's own infrastructure. By default it produces two H.264 renditions, 1280x720 and 640x360, with AAC-LC audio. Ladder, segment length and container, frame rate and rate control are configurable.
The setup is also published as a machine-readable recipe that AI coding agents can follow, at www.osaas.io/stacks/live-rtmp-to-hls.json.
The free Basic tier includes 100 tokens once; the stack uses 50 tokens per day, so continuous use requires a paid plan. Pricing is at www.osaas.io/pricing.
