S-video

Also referred to as Y/C or Y-C signaling, S-video is a middle ground between component and composite signals, splitting the luminance ("Y") and chrominance ("C") into two separate paths. The dual-transmission scheme makes S-video less suspectible to crosstalk than composite signaling, but it is inferior to component signaling at almost the same cost to implement as component cabling.
